报告人简介:

Title: Head of Department of Tuber Crops, N.I.Vavilov Institute of Plant Industry (VIR).
Education: State Doctor of biological sciences (2004), Ph.D of Agricultural Science (1989) VIR; M.Sc. in Agriculture Leningrad (now St.-Petersburg) Institute of Agriculture(1977).
Trainings - Wisconsin University, USA, 1995; Cornell University, USA 1999
Institutional affiliations: Since 2001 - Head of Department of Tuber Crops, VIR, Curator of Tuber Crops Genebank; 1995–2001 Senior Researcher; 1983–1995 - Researcher, Dep. of Tuber Crops, VIR.

Major projects: Maintaining, increasing and evaluation of VIR Tuber Crops Germplasm. He is responsible spokesman of VIR in APIC (Association of Potato Intergenebank Collaboration) as in European Associations IPGRI, EAPR, EUCARPIA. During 1998-2001 he was a participant of Joint Project of Cornell-Eastern Europe-Mexico (CEEM) in Potato Late Blight Control. In 2006-2007 he has a joint investigations in collaboration with scientists of Wisconsin University (USA). Since 2008 he has a joint collaborative project with Luxemburg Centre of Public Researches on Nutrition values of South-American cultivated potatoes.
Areas of expertise: Plant genetic resources; Tuber crops germplasm: introduction; botanical and morphological studying; evaluation and selecting valuable material for breeding. He is author of over 125 scientific papers. He is a member of Association of Potato Intergenebank Collaboration (APIC) and European CPGR Potato and Tuber Crops Working Group (representing VIR (Russian) Tuber Crops Genebank. He is a active member of International Organisаtion “Slow Food” &”Terra Madre”.
Statement of research interests: Plant Genetic Resources: Tuber Crops Germplasm Introduction; Botanical and morphological studying. Evaluation and singling out initial material for breeding.
Teaching responsibility: Lectures on Potato Growing and Seed Potato Production for Agronomists and Farmers in Training Program in the North-Western Academy of Agricultural business, St. Petersburg; also - lectures on Program of Potato Growing in St. Petersburg State Agrarian University for students of Faculty of Agronomy.
